Pavol graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava in the field of political science, and at KU Leuven in the field of sociology.

From 2007 to 2010, he worked for the daily Pravda and later as a contributor of Hospodárské noviny. During this time he also graduated from the Institute of Political Journalism at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

In 2013, Pavol defended his PhD. thesis in political science at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Bratislava, where he remained working as a lecturer and researcher. He focused mostly on voter behavior and attitudes towards democracy, the European Union and globalization. In his research he combined quantitative, qualitative and experimental methods, which he also taught as part of methodology courses, which were at the core of Pavol’s teaching portfolio.

In addition to academic studies, he has also published two books: ‘Slovakia in the Globalizing EU’, and ‘Social Problems, Political (Non) Solutions: Elections 2016 (co-authored)’. Pavol also popularized his scientific work in many public discussions, podcasts, appeared regularly in the media and analyzed social events and public attitudes.
